STATEMENT OF FAITH
With an unreserved commitment to a grammatico-historical
hermeneutic of the Bible, the Bharat Bible College- a Protestant, Evangelical,
Bible-training institution-shall continue to believe the following doctrines of
the Christian faith.
BIBLIOLOGY---Plenary Verbal Inspiration of the
Scriptures of the Old and New
Testament in the original, their inerrancy and infallibility, and their supreme
authority in faith and practice.
THEOLOGY---Trinity
of the Godhead - The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - Co-eternal Co-equal and Co-essential.
CHRISTOLOGY---Essential, eternal and full deity of the Lord Jesus Christ,
His Incarnation by the Virgin Birth. Absolute Holiness, Vicarious and Atoning
Death, Bodily Resurrection, Ascension to Heaven and His uniqueness as the Lord
and Savior of Mankind.
PNEUMATOLOGY---Personality and full deity of the Holy Spirit, Baptism of the
Spirit, indwelling, sealing and anointing in the New Birth, necessity of the
filling of the Spirit for sanctification and service and total repudiation of
the modern Charismatic emphasis.
SOTERIOLOGY---Salvation by God’s sovereign elective grace through faith in
the Lord Jesus Christ, and Eternal Security of the believer in Christ.
ECCLESIOLOGY---Dispensational distinction between Israel and Church, Baptism
of believers by Immersion, Separation from Apostasy in principle and practice and the
Imperativeness of the Great Commission.
ESCHATOLOGY---Pre-Millennial Second Coming of Christ,
Imminent Pre-Tribulational Rapture of the Church, Resurrection of the dead,
eternal blessedness of the saved in Heaven and eternal damnation of the unsaved
in Hell.

THEOLOGICAL STANCE
We, the Faculty of Bharat Bible College:
Do not subscribe to religious syncretism which teaches that there is saving
truth in every religion under the Sun, and it makes no difference
whatsoever which religion one belongs to, or believes in, for in the end
all will get to the same place etc.
Do not subscribe to Liberation Theology which teaches that the God of the Bible
has been on the mission of liberating the politically, socially and
economically oppressed nations, communities of people and individuals
throughout history. Social and economic justice must be done to the
underprivileged and socially neglected segment of society. The rich, the
powerful and the most influential perpetrate these crimes against the
hopeless of society and therefore, true Christians must necessarily be
involved in this process of Liberation.
This Theology includes:
1. ‘Black theology’
2. ‘Feminist theology’
3. ‘Dalit theology’ and the like.
Do not subscribe to the Modern Ecumenical Movement spearheaded and sponsored by
the Roman Catholic Church and popularized by the World Council of
Churches (WCC). This movement promotes counterfeit Christianity and
tirelessly seeks to embrace people of all religions in the name of unity
and peace, with little or no regard to scriptural doctrines and moral
purity.
Do not subscribe to the Modern Charismatic Movement which emphasizes and
practices ‘gifts of the spirit’ far beyond the parameters set by the
inspired and infallible Word of God.
Do not subscribe to
modern liberalism which does not believe in the Scriptures as
the only inspired and infallible revelation of God, as the basis for
Christian theology. Liberal theology advocated change of Biblical
theology in every generation according to the change of times.
Do not subscribe to social or holistic gospel, which has put the ‘cart before
the horse!’ This gospel is lopsided in that it has majored in the
minors. Material and physical needs of man have taken precedence over
the spiritual and eternal thus contravening the Scriptural Gospel of
Jesus Christ.
But We:
Believe and teach traditional fundamental, evangelical Biblical Theology
which affirms the inspiration, the infallibility and authority of the 66
books of the Bible! There is only one Biblical theology which is
articulated in our Doctrinal Statement, which underlies our theological
stance.
The Board of
Governors,
Director and the Faculty members of Bharat Bible College have pledged
allegiance to the doctrinal statement, as well as its theological stance
and will neither contradict nor subvert this position either in the
classrooms or anywhere outside the classroom with the students.
